Clinical Trials Research was established in 2000 by Dr. Jeffrey D. Wayne and serves Sacramento, and the surrounding counties. The staff at CTR is dedicated to improved disease management and patient care through the evaluation of new medications and devices. CTR has developed strong and healthy relationships with many pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations with which we have conducted many types of clinical trials.
Jeffrey D. Wayne, M.D.
Dr. Wayne is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician. He has extensive experience in private practice and has conducted clinical research studies for more than 22 years. Prior to establishing Clinical Trials Research, Dr. Wayne served as Director of Clinical Research for a major medical group and health system in Northern California. In addition to his experience clinical trials, Dr. Wayne also has extensive experience in outpatient, inpatient and emergency medicine.
Dr. Wayne has an excellent reputation in the global research community. He has participated in many studies of different therapeutic areas including hypertension, diabetes, lipid, gastro-intestinal, respiratory, arthritis, COPD, and women’s health. Our clinical research sites maintain strict adherence to GCP (Good Clinical Practice) Guidelines and other regulatory requirements. Dr. Wayne understands the necessity of strong physician oversight, and this attitude is reflected in his involvement in all aspects of clinic operations.
Dr. Wayne has been involved in a wide range of medical activities over the last 26 years since completing his Internal Medicine residency in 1986. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and maintained a private practice for 20 years in the Sacramento, CA area.
From 1986 to 1989 Dr. Wayne was an emergency room attending physician and Clinical Instructor for Tufts Medical School. He was involved in direct patient care and teaching medical students and residents from Tufts and Harvard Medical Schools.
Dr. Wayne attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he completed his pre-med requirements and obtained a BA in Psychology. He then attended medical school at the USC Medical School in Los Angeles and completed a family practice internship at USC/Los Angeles County Hospital. Dr. Wayne’s Internal Medicine Internship and Residency followed at Faulkner Hospital in Boston.
